Established in 1970, Maghull Art Group now boasts more than 100 members,

Maghull Art Group member Tony Rimmer said: "Maghull Art Group's exhibitions feature work of local members of the club who are extremely talented and because it's a local group we like to support the community and get the support of the community. We always get a very good turn out.

"We have some really talented people in the club whose work sells very well. If you come along you will get to see all the great pieces of art that our members have produced of Sefton and the area where we live.

"We also have a 'work in progress room' where you can meet the artists in action and even try your hand at painting yourself. It may just ignite an interest in your own art skills. So come along and have a go as well.

"We wanted to invite Bill Esteson as our MP to come along as we know he is very supportive of local groups. We really look forward to welcoming him and all the visitors who come along over the two days of the exhibition."

Bill said he was delighted to support the well established local art group.

Bill said: "Maghull Art Group has a fantastic reputation and I have seen for myself some of the brilliant pieces of artwork at previous exhibitions that I have attended.

"That is why I am delighted and honoured to have been invited to open next weekend's exhibition at Deyes High.

"I look forward to seeing the artists' latest works and meeting some of the talented artists responsible for them."
