At the height of Wimbledon season Sefton Central Labour MP Bill Esterson will be taking time out to be served up an ace treat when he attends Age Concern Crosby's Strawberry Tea fundraiser this weekend.

The annual fundraising event is held to raise funds for the local charity at the Waterloo Park Day Centre in Waterloo.

While there, Bill will be browsing through the various charity stalls and meeting some local businesses who will also be attending.

Bill said: "Age Concern Crosby is a great charity that does great work throughout our community, helping people throughout my constituency, Crosby, Maghull, Lydiate, Aintree, Melling and Formby.

"The work they do is invaluable and they really do deserve all of our support.

"One thing that I notice whenever I attend events there is that you are always guaranteed a very warm welcome. And at the weekend's Strawberry Tea event, there'll be the added bonus of strawberries and cream.

"So do come along and support a fantastic local charity and support some of the fantastic local businesses who will be there too.

"I hope to see you there."

The Age Concern Crosby Strawberry Tea is being held on Saturday (July 5) from 2pm-5pm. Admission is £2, which includes scone, jam and cream or strawberries and cream with tea or coffee. There will also be a super prize raffle with lots of prizes up for grabs.
