Sefton Central Labour MP Bill Esterson joins in the fun as Ince

Sefton Central Labour MP Bill Esterson with Ince Blundell Parish Councillors.

Sefton Central Labour MP Bill Esterson was among the guests at Ince Blundell Parish Council’s Christmas tree light switch on.

Scores turned out for the festive fun in the village which culminated in the MP's eight-year-old son flicking the switch on the Christmas lights.

The Christmas Tree was sponsored by Lady Green Garden Centre and the lights supported by the Formby and Ince Blundell Area Committee.

Bill said: "My family enjoy the Christmas light switch on at Ince Blundell and my son especially liked turning on the lights.

"It was great to see so many children at the community event and that Santa was on hand to give out a few early presents.

"Thanks to Ince Blundell Parish Council for their hospitality and for organising the mulled wine and carols, which went down well with the residents and with my family.

"I was also very pleased to see a strong local business, Lady Green Garden Centre providing the tree and that the Sefton Councillors had used the area committee budget to pay for the lights.

"We were lucky with the weather.

"I'd like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas."
