Maghull Labour MP Bill Esterson praised a successful local nursery at its open day.
The MP was at the open day at ‘It’s The Little Things’ at Parkhaven in Maghull and met parents and children who were enjoying the open day activities.
These included arts and crafts and games for the children, with lots of homemade cakes, a barbecue and other goodies. The MP even ‘won’ the coconut shy and was able to take home his own coconut for his children.
Bill said: "It’s the Little Things is a popular and successful nursery and I know that parents are really impressed at the care of the staff.
"The children clearly enjoy their time at the nursery and are well prepared for school as a result. There is no doubt in my mind that good nursery schools do a great job in helping young children to develop and in supporting families.
"In my work with the Education Select Committee, I have seen evidence that nursery schools are offering the very best childcare and early years learning for children and that is certainly the case at It’s the Little Things.
"I would pay tribute to all of the staff at the nursery and to everyone who work with the youngest children.
"The start that children receive from their parents and carers is of course the most important part of their early development but the quality of nursery is also very important in making sure that children have the best possible start in life.
"I would like to thank everyone at ‘It’s the Little Things for an excellent open day and I hope that the many visitors enjoyed themselves.
