MP praises North West Film Night

Bill Esterson MP praised the Labour party’s use of Independent cinema as the first ever North West Labour Film Festival will part take place in the Plaza Cinema, Waterloo. Taking place at both the Plaza and Picturehouse FACT in the city centre from 6th-9th October, the festival boasts world premieres and some very challenging topics.

On Friday 7th Michael Moore’s latest ‘Where to Invade Next’ will be shown at the Plaza, with a Q&A to follow with MEP Julie Ward and Shadow Education Secretary Angela Raynor. The same evening there will be the UK Premiere of Bulgaria’s 2014 Oscar entry ‘The Judgement’ which features an introduction from Farouq Habib. Tickets for both films are £5 and available to prebook at the Plaza Cinema’s Box Office.

Bill Esterson MP said “It’s great to see the North West Labour party using and supporting such a brilliant cinema. My wife and children often go to The Plaza, I know it is one of the few that offers affordable trips out for the family, but it also offers thought-provoking cinema and discussion. The Plaza gives such a great service to the community, and does so with a team of dedicated and hardworking volunteers. I hope the night is a success and urge anyone looking for a different Friday night to go along.”
