Sefton Central Labour MP Bill Esterson is appealing for your views on how Formby Village can be improved.
Bill is holding an open meeting on Thursday (August 1) at Formby Pool to discuss how the shopping centre can be rejuvenated.
Joining Bill at the meeting will be Sefton Council leader Cllr Peter Dowd, Formby Sefton Councillors and members of Formby Parish Council.
The meeting was called after Bill heard concerns from local traders that the long-term future of the Village.
The MP heard about the good work the Parish Council has already started, which has included replacing some of the Village's street furniture.
Bill said he was arranging the meeting for traders and local businesses, as well as residents to come along, share their ideas and get involved in carrying through some of those ideas.
Bill said: "We all want the very best for Formby Village.
"We want a thriving trading centre for the local businesses. And we want a thriving shopping and cultural centre for the local residents.
"Formby Village is a fantastic centre for Formby, but it has the potential to be so much more.
"That's what the traders I have spoken to want and what we will look at investigating at Thursday's meeting."
Bill has already met with Formby Parish Council who have told him about some of the improvements in the Village that they have made.
Bill said: "Formby Parish Council have already done some work on making improvements in the Village and I hope that Sefton council will be making a contribution as well.
"We just need to make sure that the improvements we make lead to an increase in footfall for the businesses and enhance the offering in the Village.
"We have Sefton Council leader Cllr Peter Dowd, our local Formby borough and parish councillors attending, so please come along and have your say.
"I look forward to hearing lots of ideas from businesses and residents alike on what we can do to make the improvements in the Village that we all want to see."
Bill Esterson, Cllr Peter Dowd, Formby borough and Formby Parish councillors will be holding the open drop-in meeting from 5-7pm at Formby Pool. Everyone is welcome to come along and share their views and ideas.
