MP Bill Esterson and Formby Labour Action Team join Dickensian D

Formby Labour Action Team's Peter Maguire, Cllr Catie Page, Bill Esterson MP and Pauline Leyland at Formby Dickensian Day.

Formby Labour Action Team travelled back in time at the weekend as they joined the fun at the annual Dickensian Day extravaganza.
The town's MP Bill Esterson, together with members of the Formby Labour Action Team, took part in the popular community event.
Bill, who joined the parade, said Dickensian Day was one of the highlights of the year.
Bill said: "Each and every year Dickensian Day attracts thousands of people in the Village. It is the perfect community event which brings together young, old and in between from all parts of Formby while also benefiting local charities and community groups.
"Members of the Formby Labour Action Team have key roles in making the day the success it is, including Cllr Catie Page who manned the Dove Trust stall and David Campbell who has volunteered on community charity stalls since Dickensian Day started all those years ago.
"It is this dedication from people from throughout Formby to make the day a success which makes Dickensian Day one of the highlights of the calendar.
"I would like to thank the Dickensian Day committee for organising another fantastic event.
"It was a privilege to again join the parade and I look forward to taking part for many years to come."
Formby Labour Action Team leader Peter Maguire said Dickensian Day had always been an event the whole community looked forward to.
Peter said: "Even when I was at school everyone always looked forward to going along to Dickensian Day and that hasn't changed over the years. I always make sure that my calendar is free for the first Saturday in December so I can attend.
"It's great to see so many people come together to join the fun and our local shops in the Village must do well from all the extra visitors.
"Events like Dickensian Day ensure that Formby keeps its community spirit and is one of the reasons why our town is the envy of the North West."
Formby Labour Councillor Catie Page said: "Formby Dickensian Day is always a great event. It's good for the community and for the local charities that benefit.
"Regardless of the weather the day always attracts lots of people who all come along and have a great time."
