Maghull Town Council is preparing for a blooming marvellous flower and plant sale next month.
Mayor of Maghull, Labour's Cllr Sandra Williams, will be handing over the chains of office to the new incoming Mayor this week, but one of her last official duties is to organise the official Mayor of Maghull Flower and Plant Sale.
The sale, which will be held from 11am-4pm on Sunday, June 10, at Maghull Town Hall, will raise funds for the Mayor's charities who this year are Woodlands Hospice and Zoe's Place.
Maghull and Lydiate nurseries, Sefton Meadows, Windmill Nurseries, Lydiate Barn, Hartley's Garden Centre and Lady Green Nursery, are among the businesses who are supporting the event and having stalls.
Cllr Williams said she hopes the event will raise much needed funds for both her chosen charities.
Cllr Williams said: "Maghull Town Council is delighted to be able to work with our local community and garden centres for this year's plant sale.
"We've got the support of many local nurseries and garden centres who will also be coming along on the day.
"Hartley's and Lady Green have kindly provided gift vouchers for the raffle which we hope will raise extra funds.
"And we have lots of space for private growers to come along and sell their wares."
Cllr Williams said the day should be fun for everyone "whether you've got green fingers or not!"
Cllr Williams said: "As well as raising funds for two very worthy charities, we hope it will be an enjoyable day for everyone.
"As well as being able to pick up some bargains, we will also have experts on hand to answer questions and give advice.
"I'd like to thank all the businesses who are supporting the day.
"I'm really looking forward to it and I hope everyone comes along to support the event and our chosen charities."
Mayor of Maghull's Plant Sale will be held from 11am-4pm on Sunday, June 10, at Maghull Town Hall.
Sellers' tables are just £10 on the day. To book a spot, call Pat Annal at Maghull Town Hall on 0151 526 3705.
