Joint second in the competition were Trimmers and the Marie Curie shop on Westway.

Cllr Deegan said The Paper Doll was a deserving winner.

Cllr Deegan said: "We have some fantastically dressed shop windows in Maghull this year. Walking around Maghull you really do get in the festive spirit seeing some of the brilliant displays in shop windows.

"The winning window is superb and Sarah-Jayne is a deserving winner. She has used the artistic flair she uses to design the wedding stationery as part of her business to dress her window for Christmas.

"Considering she only opened the shop in August last year, she has done fantastically well.

"I would like to congratulate Sarah-Jayne and her colleagues, Trimmers and the Marie Curie shop and all of the shops in Maghull who have made a tremendous effort to dress their windows for Christmas.

"I'd urge everyone to use our local shops for their Christmas shopping this year and enjoy the brilliant displays at the same time."
