Mayor and Mayoress of Maghull Labour's Cllrs Steve and Gwen Kermode said Maghull Musical Theatre Company hit all the right notes when they put on their latest "brilliant" performance.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Maghull joined Mayor and Mayoress of Sefton Cllrs Kevin and Linda Cluskey at the theatre company's latest show at Annie at Southport Little Theatre.
Annie marks Maghull Musical Theatre Company's 40th anniversary, having formed in October 1972 under the name Maghull Amateur Operatic Society.
Mayor of Maghull Cllr Kermode said he had again been delighted to represent Maghull at the show.
Cllr Kermode said: "Maghull Musical Theatre Company has a reputation for putting on brilliant shows. Annie was no different - it was exceptional.
"The cast, the crew, the helpers, everyone on the stage and back stage really put a lot of time into getting the show just right. And the quality of the performances shows.
"It was brilliant.
"Every single one of the performers did exceptionally well."
Cllr Kermode said Maghull Musical Theatre Company always do the town proud.
Cllr Kermode said: "I love supporting local groups. These are organisations which give people, young and old alike, the chance to get involved and active.
"Maghull Musical Theatre Company is a brilliant group and they have been for 40 years now.
"I have seen a number of their shows and each time they astound me with the professionalism and quality.
"Gwen and I would like to thank each and everyone one of them for putting on another fantastic performance."
