Christmas is coming to Maghull this week as the town turns on its festive lights - and Mayor of Maghull, Labour's Cllr Steve Kermode wants you to come along and join in the fun.
The Christmas lights are scheduled to be turned on at 6pm in Central Square, but the fun starts at 5.30pm with local school choirs coming along to sing Christmas Carols.
Cllr Kermode said the Christmas Lights switch-on is one of the highlights of Maghull's year.
Cllr Kermode said: "You know that Christmas is coming when Maghull's Christmas Lights are turned on.
"We are less than four weeks away from Christmas so Friday's big switch-on is the ideal opportunity to come along, sing some carols and really get into the Christmas spirit."
Cllr Kermode added: "The Christmas Lights always put a smile on people's faces. We need to take advantage of every opportunity to add a little joy. The Christmas Lights switch-on certainly does just that.
"My Maghull Town Council colleagues and I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in organising this year's switch on.
"This is the real start of Christmas for us here in Maghull, I hope as many people as possible join us as we officially launch the festive period."
The festive fun starts at 5.30pm on Friday (November 30).
