Maghull Labour Councillor pleased Central Square developers take

Lynn Gatherer

Maghull Labour Councillor Lynn Gatherer said she is pleased that Central Square's developers are taking steps to respond to residents' concerns.

Cllr Gatherer has been working to raise issues which have been flagged up by nearby residents.

One of which was the appearance of newly created steps from the car park to Liverpool Road North which didn't not appear on the original plans.

Shortly after taking the issue to Maghull Development, the steps were removed.

Cllr Gatherer said: "As soon as residents of Liverpool Road North raised concerns about the steps, the Maghull Labour Action Team took those concerns to the Maghull Group.

"They advised us that they erected the steps in order to create easy access for people. But once they heard the residents' concerns, they took action and removed the steps.

"The steps have now made way for landscaping to be provided in accordance with drawings already approved by Sefton Council. The company tell me that this will be implemented at the next planting and seeding season after the summer."

Cllr Gatherer has now taken other concerns to the developer.

Cllr Gatherer said: "Residents have raised a number of issues with the Labour Action Team, and we have been working with the developer to resolve these too.

"But this is a long term project and we will continue to ensure that all of the issues raised are addressed by the company."
