Lydiate and Maghull Labour Action Team's June Burns has welcomed Sefton Council's recent resurfacing work on a busy Lydiate road which residents said was pitted and dangerous.
Sefton Council has completed resurfacing the road after residents contacted the Lydiate and Maghull Labour Action Team with concerns about Moss Lane.
Work was carried out by Sefton over the summer period.
Moss Lane was prioritised by Labour Cabinet Member for Technical Services Cllr John Fairclough.
Lydiate and Maghull Labour Action Team's June Burns said residents had contacted the Labour Action Team with concerns about the poor state of the surface prior to the resurfacing work by Sefton Council.
June said: "The condition of the road was an issue which has been coming up on the door as the Labour Action Team have been working in Lydiate.
"This was fed back to Cllr Fairclough who has had action taken.
"The road had been a particular problem after the last major icy winter when the condition of the road deteriorated. It left Moss Lane with potholes and uneven surfaces.
"But the recent resurfacing work has resolved that."
June has also been informed that engineers are going to continue to monitor the road.
June said: "Sefton technical team have informed us that the engineers are confident that the problem of surface flooding will be resolved in the road as the cumber of the road will allow any water to run along into the channels and into the existing gullies.
"However, they have confirmed that the road will be monitored and visited after heavy down pours to assess whether more gullies are needed. They are clearly being very thorough.
"This resurfacing work is a much needed improvement for this part of Lydiate."
