Labour-run Maghull Town Council is ensuring that the town is blooming marvellous by backing the Maghull in Bloom campaign.
Labour Councillors on Maghull Town Council, together with members of the Maghull in Bloom Group and members of the Maghull Station Volunteers welcomed Britain in Bloom judges to the Town Hall on Friday during their visit to the town.
The judges were here to assess whether Maghull should be named a Britain in Bloom winner.
Keen gardener and Labour Councillor, Cllr Sandra Williams, said she was proud Maghull Town Council had backed the bid.
Cllr Williams said: "Maghull Town Council's parks and gardens team is fantastic. They are a dedicated team that goes above and beyond in ensuring the the town looks great.
"We've seen the great work from parks and gardens supervisor Mike Upham and the team, particularly with the fantastic wildflower project adding colour to our parks, greens and woodland areas throughout Maghull.
"The town looked absolutely fantastic for the judges' visit and I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to making Maghull in Bloom such a success this year.
"The Maghull in Bloom team are an asset to the town, as are the Maghull Station Volunteers who always make the station look absolutely fantastic. I'd like to personally thank each and every one of them.
"Maghull in Bloom has really developed well over the years and there are lots of people and groups who come together to make it the success it is.
"We are very proud that Maghull is involved in the this."
Mayor of Maghull, Cllr Steve Kermode, said he was particularly pleased that community groups and schools were involved.
Cllr Kermode said: "Maghull in Bloom brings us all together for the good of the town. It is a fantastic community effort.
"Everyone has done fantastically well in making Maghull look great, not just for the judges' visit but all year round.
"I'd like to thank everyone who made the effort to make Maghull blooming marvellous yet again, including the brilliant artists of Sefton Art Group who decorated the town hall council chamber with some of their colourful works. They were brilliant.
