Labour MP and Formby councillor get sneak peak of newly refurbis

Formby Rafa club secretary Fred Johns, chairman Eric Porter and bookings officer Sandra Granby with MP Bill Esterson and Cllr Catie Page.

Formby’s Labour MP Bill Esterson and new Labour Councillor Catie Page visited the newly-refurbished RAFA club for a tour of the facilities.

The club has a very pleasant members' lounge and would like to welcome new members.

It also has a hall available for functions, which Sefton Central Labour Party has already used for events.

Bill and Cllr Page met chairman Eric Porter, secretary Fred Johns and Sandra Granby and Peter Whiston who arrange the bookings. The facilities can be booked from Sandra on 07710 492303 or Peter on 01704 876404.

Bill said: “I would like to congratulate the volunteers at the RAFA club for their hard work in refurbishing the facilities. We have already used the club for some of our events, so I know what a good venue it is.

"I hope that other people will hire the RAFA club and support them as they do a lot of good work supporting current and former service personnel so could do with the funds from people either joining the club or hiring the facilities.

"Fred told me that he is involved in pastoral work with 40 people in Sefton and West Lancashire and I would like to commend him, Eric and the other volunteers for the great work they do.”
