In the eight months since they've been holding them, Maghull Town Council's Labour Group Councillors have helped scores of people who have attended their Saturday morning surgeries.

Labour Councillors on the town council have been holding weekly surgeries at the Meadows Leisure Centre since they took control of Maghull Town Council last May.

Each Saturday, from 10.30am-11.30am, Labour Councillors hold surgeries at the library in the leisure centre.

Maghull Town Councillor Steve Kermode said: "All of the Labour Councillors have held surgeries at the library since last May and it has been a huge success.

"We've helped lots of people who have come to us at the library surgeries."

Cllr Kermode said the surgeries allow people to easily contact their local Labour councillors.

Cllr Kermode said: "We have found that the surgeries in the library are particularly popular because people like to know that their Labour councillors are easily accessible at a specific time through the week.

"People have come to us with a whole host of issues which we as Maghull Town Councillors and members of the Labour Action team have been able to help them with.

"You don't need to make appointment, just call in and speak to us near to the entrance at the Meadows Leisure Centre."
