Personal Statement:

After attending Formby High School I then went on to study in Hugh Baird College and the University of Liverpool.  Except for my time as an undergraduate student I have always lived in Formby and continue to reside in my hometown.

I believe that Formby needs a councillor who understands the needs and concerns of local residents while ensuring they are effectively represented at every stage within the council’s decision making process.

I joined the Labour Party because I share the party’s commitment to social justice, equality and opportunity for all.  I am very proud of the achievements of the Labour Party such as the creation of the NHS, establishing of SureStart children's centres, reducing child poverty, introduction of the national minimum wage and the introduction of Civil Partnerships.

These achievements have improved the standard of living for millions whilst helping to create a more fair, diverse and cohesive society.

I have worked in the public sector for the past three years.

I have worked in Retail/Customer Service sector for the past 10 years.

I have a first class degree (with honours) in Politics from the University of Liverpool.

I am a trade union member (BECTU).

I am an active Labour Party campaigner.
