Formby's Labour Councillors are asking people to join them as they roll up their sleeves, don some rubber gloves and clean up some of the town's streets.
Labour Councillors Peter Maguire, Nina Killen and Catie Page are organising the event which they hope will be the start of regular clean-ups throughout the Formby and Ince Blundell area.
The first Formby clean-up will take place on Saturday, November 10 from 10am-12noon starting at Rose Path.
Cllr Maguire said: "One of the main concerns people have here in Formby is the amount of litter which builds up on our streets.
"We live in a fantastic community here and my Labour colleagues and I want to make sure it remains that way.
"So we are launching regular voluntary clean-ups for people to join us and spend a bit of time clearing some litter away."
Cllr Maguire said he hoped lots of people will support the clean-up so it becomes a regular event.
Cllr Maguire said: "We are starting this at Rose Path, but we want to roll it out across Formby and Ince Blundell.
"So we hope lots of people come along and show their support.
"Ince Blundell Parish Council hold regular clean-ups which get lots of support from the community and we hope to do the same for the rest of Formby too.
"Depending on the success of the first, we will be making this a regular event and taking action to keep Formby and Ince Blundell as the great places to live which they are.
"So come along and join us. We'll have lots of rubber cloves and litter pickers so we can make the area spic-and-span in no time."
