Formby Labour Councillor Nina Killen has thanked Merseytravel for swiftly taking steps to resolve residents' concerns.

Harington Ward Labour Cllr Nina Killen contacted Merseytravel after receiving concerns from local residents who complained that their privacy was being invaded because passengers making their way to and from the ticket office could see into their homes through the new windows on the steps.

Residents and Cllr Killen contacted Merseytravel about the concerns.

Within days, the clear windows were replaced with frosted panes.

Nina KillenCllr Killen said: "I was contacted with concerns about the new windows on the stairs at the station. I visited the site and agreed that there was indeed an issue.

"I immediately contacted Merseytravel and received a personal response from chairman Cllr Liam Robinson who said he would look into it.

"Cllr Robinson clearly agreed with the residents' assessment and within a matter of weeks, the clear windows were replaced with frosted ones, meaning the residents do have privacy."

Cllr Killen thanked Merseytravel for taking swift action.

Cllr Killen said: "I'd like to thank Cllr Robinson and his team for their swift response to the concerns which the residents and I raised."
