Budding DJs are being invited to come forward to apply to be one of the voices of a new Maghull radio station.
Maghull Town Team, together with Maghull Town Council, are working on getting the radio station idea off the ground and onto the airwaves.
Maghull Labour Councillors Lynn Gatherer and Patrick McKinley, who are also part of the Maghull Town Team, are working together with the town team's Lewis Franks, Steve Maxwell and Richie Nicholson on the project.
They are now ready to start auditioning for the coveted DJ positions and they want young aspiring radio presenters to come forward.
Lewis said: "The idea behind the radio station is to provide an opportunity to really promote Maghull, both at home and further afield through the internet, and also to provide training opportunities to people to get into the media industry.
"The media industry is fiercely difficult to get into for people without the training and experience. We want to provide that training and experience right here in Maghull for the area's young people.
"So we are appealing for anyone interested in trying out, to come forward."
Sudell Ward Labour Councillor Lynn Gatherer said she hoped anyone with aspirations to break into the media industry would come forward.
Cllr Gatherer said: "We want people to come forward to get involved in the radio station, whether they have experience or not. We would particularly like to see people of all ages who would like to get into the industry.
"We have plans to provide training in radio production as well as give the invaluable air-time experience that is needed.
"So if you've got the perfect voice for radio, come forward."
Fellow Sudell Ward Labour Councillor Patrick McKinley said the town team was working on lots of ideas for potential shows for the new station.
Cllr McKinley said: "We are coming up with more and more ideas all the time, from local nostalgia to local band nights. The possibilities really are endless.
"This is about promoting Maghull and promoting the people of Maghull.
"We want as many people as possible to know what our town has to offer, the fantastic businesses that we have here. The fantastic facilities that are available. The fantastic talent we have on offer.
"That's the town team's aim for Maghull Radio."
