Sefton Central MP Bill Esterson impressed with local art group

Maghull’s Labour MP Bill Esterson met artists and members of the public at the Maghull Art Group exhibition at Deyes High School. The MP was very impressed by the quality of the artwork on display.

Labour MP, Bill Esterson said, “Maghull Art Group has over 100 members who meet twice a week. Many of the members had no previous experience of painting, but thanks to the Maghull Art Group they have flourished and developed really great skills. I saw many examples of high quality art on display and was particularly impressed by the quality of the outstanding artwork on display. The members learn from each other and teach new members how to paint. Every Friday evening professional artists demonstrate their art form, be it landscapes, animals or urban scenes.  The committee told me about about one piece of art form which used shaving foam. I am really impressed by the creativity of my constituents.”

The group meets each week Tuesday 9:30am – 12 noon at St Peter’s Church hall 186a Moorhey Rd. Maghull, L31 5LW. Maghull Art Group is moving its monthly Fridaymeetings to Lydiate Parish Hall in Lambshear Lane and new members are welcome to come along to find out more.
