Labour-run Maghull Town Council said last week's inaugural Mayor of Maghull Flower and Plant Sale was blooming great.
The event was held at Maghull Town Hall to raise funds for the outgoing Mayor of Maghull Cllr Sandra Williams' chosen charities, which were Woodlands Hospice and Zoe's Place.
Local nurseries supported the event taking stalls to sell their own plants and flowers.
A total of £120 was raised on the day for the charities.
Cllr Williams said: "We had a great day at the inaugural Mayor of Maghull Flower and Plant Sale.
"Thankfully the weather was kind to us and we had a lot of people come along and pick up some bargains.
"But most imprtantly, we raised some vital funds for two very worthy local charities.
"I would personally like to thank everyone who came along and in particular Maghull and Lydiate nurseries, Sefton Meadows, Windmill Nurseries, Lydiate Barn, Hartley's Garden Centre and Lady Green Nursery for giving us their support."
Current Mayor of Maghull, Labour's Cllr Steve Kermode said the day had been a great success and he was looking forward to next year.
Cllr Kermode said: "It was an excellent event which everyone who attended enjoyed.
"People who I met on the day spoke very highly of the event telling me they will definitely be attending next year.
"So I am already looking forward to next year's event."
