Blundellsands Ward Labour Councillor Veronica Bennett is urging Brighton-le-Sands residents to let her know their views about plans to introduce new parking restrictions on a residential road.

Sefton Council is proposing to introduce 'At Any Time' parking restrictions at the junction of Alexandra Road and Vermont Road.

The move comes after complaints that cars parked on and around the junction are causing an obstruction.

Cllr Bennett is asking for residents' views before the changes are implemented.

Cllr Bennett said: "Before Sefton Council introduce these new parking measures, I am seeking the views of residents on Alexandra Road and Vermont Road about a proposal to introduce new parking restrictions. The plans will prevent parking at the junction of the two roads.

"Both Alexandra Road and Vermont Road are narrow, between 5m and 6m, and there have been some genuine concerns raised about vehicles getting round the corner when other vehicles are parked close to the junction.

"As a councillor I have been asked to either approve or oppose spending council money on this scheme. I want to balance the need of vehicles seeking access with the parking needs of local residents and would like to get the views of people living on Vermont and Alexandra Road so that any decision is made on the basis of residents' wishes."
