Sefton Central Labour MP Bill Esterson found out for himself that you can bank on getting your hands on a tasty coffee and home-baked cake at Barclays' annual Macmillan Coffee Morning in Crosby.
Bill joined customers and staff for a coffee and a piece of cake at the Crosby Village branch.
The Crosby branch coffee morning raised a total of £642, which is being doubled by the bank.
Branch manager Jan Ryan said: "The Crosby branch of Barclays has been support Macmillan Coffee Morning for more than 10 years.
Bill said: "Macmillan is a charity which is very close to many people's hearts.
"Barclays in Crosby does a great job supporting them.
"Jan and her team have done a fantastic job organising the coffee morning. Their customers have shown their generosity. I'd like to thank them all for continuing to support Macmillan Cancer Care and for enabling the charity to continue the fantastic work in communities like ours here in Crosby.
"Well done to them all. I am already looking forward to next year."
